Welcome to the Eric Marsh Foundation Substack!
This will be the first of many posts from the Eric Marsh Foundation about our support of the Wildland Fire Community!
It’s not what stands in front of you.
It’s who stands beside you.
Dear EMF Family,
My name is Amanda Marsh. I am the widow of Eric Marsh, Superintendent of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. I founded the Eric Marsh Foundation in memory of Eric and the Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives on the Yarnell Hill Fire in 2013. This foundation is a love letter to our fallen crew and the Wildland Fire Service. It is a lifelong commitment to care for wildland firefighters and their families—long after the noise fades, when the lonely and hard days remain.
If you’ve visited our shop, wear our gear, or support EMF in any way, you are already part of that commitment.
In 2025, the Eric Marsh Foundation provided more than $100,000.00 in direct financial support to wildland firefighter families facing catastrophic injury and line-of-duty death. That support covered funeral expenses, emergency and medical travel, groceries, rent, and other immediate needs during moments when families were simply trying to breathe.
Beyond emergency aid, our work includes mental-health support, trauma-informed care, scholarships for the children of fallen wildland firefighters, and our Wildland Widow’s Retreat. We move deliberately, responsibly, and with deep respect for the families we serve.
This work continues because a steady group of people choose to stand beside us.
If you feel aligned with our mission, I invite you to support us in whatever way feels right to you.

Thank you for honoring the Wildland Fire Service, and for supporting this work with quiet strength and integrity.
With gratitude,
